Better Design

For ages, the dining room has been adjacent to the kitchen and the master bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom.  However, in your current home, how far must you carry groceries to get them in from the car to the kitchen or pantry?  How far must you carry laundry back and forth between the closet and the laundry room?  If you live in a house like most people, the answer to these or similar questions might include a substantial distance and often plenty of stairs.

A better home design takes into account everything that goes on in a home.  In addition to other close proximities, the garage should be adjacent to the kitchen and especially the pantry.  The laundry room should be easily accessible from at least the master closet.  Other aspects of the house should be physically organized to facilitate the goings on in a home.

Add up all these design features and you have a floor plan that makes for a much better way to live.
